Forged aluminum wheels favored by new energy vehicles

The rapid development of the new energy automobile industry has driven the development of the domestic forged aluminum alloy wheel industry. China's aluminum wheel market has good prospects and has great potential.

As the demand for energy saving and consumption reduction of automobiles keeps rising, safety and environmental protection regulations are increasingly stricter, and the requirements for vehicle weight reduction are more urgent.

Aluminum alloy is of light weight, high strength, good formability and high recovery rate. It is of great significance for reducing the weight of automobiles, saving tires, reducing fuel consumption, reducing environmental pollution, and improving operational performance. It has become the material of choice for the automotive industry.

Forged aluminum alloy wheels have also been favored, especially for new energy vehicles.

China's new energy automotive industry began in the early 21st century. In 2001, the research project of new energy vehicles was listed in the “863” major scientific and technological topic during the “Tenth Five-Year Plan” period of the country, and a strategy for starting from the petrol car to the goal of hydrogen-powered vehicles was planned.

Since the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan”, China has put forward the strategy of “energy-saving and new energy vehicles”. The government pays close attention to the R&D and industrialization of new energy vehicles.

In 2008, new energy vehicles have shown a comprehensive attack in the country. This year became China's "new energy vehicle first year."

For the whole year of 2008, the growth of sales of new energy vehicles was mainly the growth of passenger vehicles. In the same year, new energy passenger vehicles sold 899 units, an increase of 117% over the same period last year.

A total of 1,536 new energy vehicles for commercial vehicles were sold, and the installation rate of forged aluminum alloy wheels was not even 0.01%.

In 2009, with the introduction of intensive support policies, China’s new energy vehicles have entered a rapid development track.

Although the proportion of new energy vehicles in the Chinese auto market is still minimal, the growth potential in China's commercial vehicle market has begun to release. The installation rate of forged aluminum alloy wheels is about 0.05%.

In 2010, China increased its support for new energy vehicles. New energy vehicles are entering a comprehensive policy support phase, and the installation rate for wrought aluminum alloy wheels is around 0.07%.

From 2011 to 2015, it entered the stage of industrialization. The state promotes new energy, urban passenger cars, hybrid power and pure electric vehicles in the whole society.

So far, the installation rate of forged aluminum alloy wheels has been about 32%; the installation rate of forged aluminum alloy wheels in the heavy truck market has also reached 18%.
