Hitachi Tools has launched the "AME" cutter-type roughing end mill with reduced cutting resistance. The use of a notched insert reduces the cutting resistance, thus enabling heavy cutting that was previously impossible.

Previously, the cutter-type roughing end mill has a large cutting resistance, and the set cutting depth is large, and the vibration is likely to occur. Therefore, in the machining of a workpiece having a low clamping rigidity, a high speed steel roughing end mill is generally used. The new product can cut the chips more finely by improving the notch shape of the blade, reducing the cutting resistance to about 60%. Even if the depth of the original vibration is generated, the cutting can be smoothly performed, and the roughing efficiency can be improved.

In addition to the notched insert, a blade "FT" with a corrugated blade for side machining after roughing is also available. Use this blade for a smooth machined surface. Although the cutting resistance of the insert is about 10% higher than the above-mentioned notched insert, it can also be used for roughing.

The blade material supports the "JS4060" with improved anti-friction properties and the "JX1060" coating material with excellent lubricity by PVD (chemical vapor deposition) coating. In this way, the life can be extended by 2 times. The price starts from 1050 yen.

The fixture uses a new hard surface treatment technology to reduce damage from chipping. Moreover, the jig is provided with a coolant hole through which the main shaft can pass, which is easy to discharge and cut. The type of fixture includes both the shank type and the drill type. There are types of diameters of 32 to 50 mm and 50 to 63 mm, respectively, and the prices are 539,920 to 2,300,300 yen and 870,900 to 1,300,200 yen.
