Good morning, every body!
Welcome to our press conference and welcome to Shanghai.
First, I will introduce Kenner, including our company profile, strategic direction, financial performance and our development strategy for the Asia Pacific region and even the Chinese market.
Kennametal is a world leader in the development, manufacture, supply and service of metal cutting tools and is the undisputed global leader in mining and road construction tools. We are a US-owned company with an annual production value of US$2.7 billion and more than 13,000 employees in more than 60 countries around the world.
Kenner has always been our mission to “provide customers with comprehensive solutions and win more profitsâ€. From reducing corrosion and wear to improving surface finish and lean cutting to specialty applications, customers can rely on Kenner to help them improve efficiency. In fact, as can be seen from the relevant documents, we have saved a total of 230 million US dollars for our customers last year by increasing production efficiency. And this figure is only for our metal solutions and services business. Bringing such capital savings to customers is very important for customers at any time, good or bad. When the economic environment changes dramatically, just like the current global market economy, such capital savings have become a top priority. In terms of strategy, we will continue to focus on balancing the business in all regions of the world, while taking care of our two business lines – Metal Solutions and Services and Advanced Materials Solutions.
It is precisely because of the above-implemented strategy that currently 53% of Kenner's business comes from markets outside the US. At the same time, the advanced materials solutions business has also achieved three times the growth.
In addition, we also focus on technological innovation. In the annual sales, we expect the sales of new products to reach at least 40%. Last year, 47% of our sales were from New Product sales. At the same time, we have developed about 10,000 new products to help our customers strengthen their productivity.
Kenner is a global company that is innovative and strong. We have great enthusiasm and interest in China and the Asia Pacific market. Currently, Kennametal Asia Pacific has a 39-year history. Since 1986, we have also started business in the Chinese market, and our products are used in GM, aviation, power generation and automotive industries. We continue to invest and increase support and services in some growth industries such as aviation. In some important industries, we continue to invest in some conventional aspects, such as personnel, training and services.
Three years ago, we had about 300 employees in the Asia Pacific region, and today the number of employees has increased to 800... Our profits have doubled. Now, we are also working hard to achieve greater goals.
We are extremely excited about the growth potential of certain industries. At the same time, we are looking forward to the growth potential of China and other countries in the Asia Pacific region.
