Small class tools make it easier to break through

The International Model Association Secretary-General Luo Baihui predicts that during the “12th Five-Year Plan” period, the high-end market share of domestically-made high-efficiency cutting tools may increase from the current 15% to 30% to 40% in modern times such as aerospace, energy transportation, and national defense industry. In the manufacturing industry, there will be several top production lines, and the competitiveness of China's cutting tool companies will be greatly improved as a whole.

At the same time, it also poses greater challenges to the traditional tool industry in China. In many of the privately-owned cutting tool companies that we usually come into contact with, the products are mostly “many and complete”, and they lack classification and pertinence. As for the three high-end equipment manufacturing industries, which are most closely related to cutting tools, such as aerospace, rail transit, and marine equipment, there are almost no experts in any of the three fields in China. This shows that we have developed countries. The difference is not a small one.

There is no expert to explain our lack of specialized segmented products. At the same time, the common problem of China's cutting tool companies is that the capacity for independent innovation is weak, and the repeated investment in the market has become normalized. Enterprises often win customers rather than unique products through price competition.

Under this circumstance, the high-end cutting tool industry seems to be far behind Chinese companies. To break through this barrier, the industry should strengthen the subdivision, because it is easier for small categories to achieve various breakthroughs. However, our current situation is mostly the whole category.
