According to a report by Singapore’s Lianhe Zaobao, the US Food and Drug Administration has approved Allergan’s anti-wrinkle injection Botox for the treatment of chronic migraines.
A statement issued by the FDA on the 15th local time said that in order to relieve headaches, adults with chronic migraine can receive an injection of botulinum every 3 months.
The FDA also said that for those who have a headache of only 14 days or less per month, there is no effect of botulinum.
In July this year, Britain became the first country in the world to allow botulinum to be used to treat migraines.
