HC Plastics News: ExxonMobil said it will launch two new Santoprene brand thermoplastic vulcanization products by the end of this year.
Market developer Josef Holz said at the 2017 German Plastics Processing Fair that the new grade material is mainly used in the glass chute corner section of the car rain strip. The customer is currently sampling the material.

According to Holz, the material has good friction properties and can be perfectly combined with EPDM. The elastic sealing system can attract customers' interest because it means the possibility of light weight.
Earlier, Exxon Mobil also said it will expand the capacity of 25% of Santoprene and other special elastomers at the Newport site in Wales, and the expansion project is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
