The establishment of the Engineering Technology Research Center began in 2007 and ended in 2011. After nearly four years of construction, the engineering center has completed the established set goals. Investment in construction funds has been put in place. The construction of test sites and facilities and the rational deployment of central staff have been completed. Six systematic R&D platforms have been completed, from materials to applied research. During the construction period, the Center’s R&D performance was impressive, with a total of more than 10 national-level projects, including 4 national major projects and 3 national support projects; it also undertook a number of science and technology projects in Hunan Province and Zhuzhou City; Since its establishment, the engineering center has also actively carried out scientific research work and has opened nearly 40 research projects. It has made major breakthroughs in the research topics of tool coating materials and cermets.
